Overview

This stack contains drivers and an API for phidget devices. It contains the following packages:

Please see the phidgets_api documentation for an example on how to implement new types of Phidgets.

Installing

From source (catkin)

For installing under catkin, it is best to follow the instructions in the README.md file in the github repository.

From source (rosbuild)

Create a directory where you want the package downloaded (ex. ~/ros), and add it to $ROS_PACKAGE_PATH.

Make sure you have git installed:

   1 sudo apt-get install git-core

Download the stack from our repository:

   1 git clone https://github.com/ccny-ros-pkg/phidgets_drivers.git

Install any dependencies using rosdep.

   1 rosdep install phidgets_drivers

Compile the stack:

   1 rosmake phidgets_drivers

Rules setup

To set up your udev rules for the phidgets USB devices, run this script:

   1 phidgets_c_api/setup-udev.sh

You will be prompted for a sudo password.
